FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BAR LEADERS, EXPERTS ASSIST THE PROJECT FOR ATTORNEY RETENTION
Washington, D.C., September 25, 2000 -- Past, present and future presidents
of the District of Columbia Bar, leading members of local legal community, and
experts on work-life issues will serve on the advisory committee of the Project
for Attorney Retention ("PAR"). PAR, an initiative of the Gender, Work
and Family Project of American University Washington College of Law, is funded
by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. Its aim is to assist law firms in the
District of Columbia to cut high attorney attrition rates through the use of
reduced hours schedules that allow attorneys to have both satisfying
professional careers and fulfilling personal lives.
Joining the Advisory Committee are: Cory Amron; Charles Buffon; Susan Holik;
Carolyn Lamm; Andrew Marks; V. Sue Molina; John Nields, Jr.; Ellen Ostrow; John
Payton; Paul Rupert; Grace Speights; and Bickley Townsend.
The co-directors of PAR are Joan Williams and Cynthia Thomas Calvert.
