Comments on the firm's part-time policy:
Part-time is decided on a case-by-case basis.
This firm has one of the lowest usage rates for part-time of
any in the country; out of 643 attorneys, only 12 work part-time
(1.8%). None of the attorneys working part-time are male. These
numbers indicate a stigmatized part-time program.
According to the Chicago office’s Workplace Questionaire on
NALP, this office allows a part-time schedule. All part-time attorneys
must work a minimum of 65% of the 2,000 annual hours required
of full-time attorneys.
In the Chicago office, the firm has a career options coordinator
who available to assist part-time attorneys. The coordinator is
a partner and a member of the management committee.
