Comments on the firm's part-time policy:

The Portland office's NALP survey explains, "DWT is committed to working with our lawyers to balance their need for flexible working arrangements with the financial realities of our practice. We recognize that we have a long-term investment in our associates, and we understand that financial considerations are not of exclusive importance in managing a successful firm. We believe that the firm and its lawyers benefit equally from a policy that provides associates with childcare or similar domestic responsibilities with flexible options in setting their overall workloads and schedules, and we will therefore continue to make individual arrangements with associates who seek to work on a part-time basis for this purpose."

Part time attorneys must work a minimum of 75% of the full-time hours.
