Comments on the firm's part-time policy:

The firm has a new part-time policy as of Jan. 1, 2007 that allows part-time associates to remain on the partnership track. Prior to that time, part-time status meant having to go off-track.

An article about the new policy can be found here.

According to the firm's website:

* The Attorney Balance and Productivity Committee is dedicated to fostering productivity by providing a work environment which affords SHB lawyers opportunities for wellness and work/life balance.

* SHB strives to provide flexibility in our work arrangements while continuing to assure development and professional growth of our attorneys. To that end, SHB permits associates of any level to work reduced hours upon approval.

Eligibility for alternative work schedules is determined by the Division Managing Partner
